MCS IC help....

I want to upgrade my MCS IC and don't know what one to get for the best price. What does everyone prefer? And also does anyone know where i can get a good price for one, or a USED one for a good price. Thanks Spike

Having recently upgraded the IC myself - I suggest the following -

1) search threads (there is a bunch of threads).
2) search product reviews (I know I posted a review on the GTT).
3) also check the Mini2 board for there are threads discussing GRS & GTT that are english made.

Here is something to start you off - First decision air or watercooled.

Water cooled - There is one on the market (that I know of ULTRIK?) and GRS is about to roll one out.

Air cooled - Basically 4 choices today Alta, GRS, GTT and Forge.

I bought the GTT and the end result is that I am very happy with it but it requires fitment and install participation. From reading threads (no actual experience) it seems the Alta & GRS are direct bolt-ins. I know that Forge is coming up with a second generation so I would wait to see what they are coming out with. The first generation Forge got a lot of critisim for sitting up rather high.

I have one question based on your signature - why are you starting with an IC?

BahamaBart pointed out alot there. And I agree with his question as to why to do the IC first. Or is it in line with other upgrades you are doing and just planning ahead?

I've been told that it will be very different from what is being offered, right now. So, I'm personally waiting...

Well, the only upgrades i am planning on doing are the SC pulley from M7, the AGS intake, and a Larger IC, and down the road an Exhaust. I just want the motor to stay alittle cooler. Thats the reason why i want to upgrade the IC. Why, what do you guys think? Spike

I thought a larger air IC cools the air charge more effectively but is also more prone to heat soak. Therefore it would be good for the track but could actually rob more power in stop-and-go street use.

Someone pitch in and correct me if I'm wrong.
