Loud squeeling when engaging in 1st and reverse. The tuner tried to say it was my fault. No way. I have not jumped on the MINI or did any hard high RPM shifting since installation 3 weeks ago. They looked at it twice, replaced the throwout too.

They said they would order another clutch kit...under warranty....but will not arrive here for 2 more weeks. I am embarassed to even drive the MINI cuz it sounds so awful.

Not sure what "puck" is. It is however a triple plate.

My tuner sez he will ship back the old unit once replaced so Sachs can "determine" the problem. But I am still wondering what the problem could be?

I was given no guideance on the brake in period for this style of clutch.

a puck style clutch is what i have, and what randy at webb sells. Its made by UUC. but you have a triple plate, so i have no idea how the break in is on that.

I had a Sachs clutch with the same problem. I sent it back to Pro Mini and they refunded my money with no problems .To put it simpley in my case the " fingers " were not bent enough to make proper contact. The clutch was determined to be defective when Pro Mini examined it .
