In your install notes, you mention that you removed .5" from either side of the cat. You also mention that there might be an issue with the sensor being so close to the heat shield.

Question: Do you think by removing 1" from one side OR the other, it would move the cat (and thus the O2 sensor mount) into a more beneficial position away from the heat shield?

No, it was because the 02 sensor is on the top of the mag cat instead of the pipe as the stock cat is. Rotating the cat downward solves the problem.
