Drivetrain 15% pully installed
15% pully installed
Ok,
So i had my ALTA 15% pulley installed. Get home and there is the loud clicking noise. I get out of the MINI and open the hood look around for whatever....
it seem to be coming from the area of the pulley, horsepower is great, acceleration is great but still that noise. So, i go back to the person who did my install, he hears the noise and can't figure it out. So, after more looking, thinking he sees something is up with the belt.
the belt when moving just did not rotate correctly at one spot. So, we pull stuff off and get the belt off. after looking at the belt we notice some damage on the belt itself. we cannot find one so we order it, won't be in till Saturday. The guy puts the old belt on and no noise. so i drive home and when i get out the noise is back, but this time i notice my tensioner is moving up and down with the bad spot on the belt.
So any one understand what i just wrote, or will a new belt fix this problem???
Thanks,
Kev

I don't think a new belt will fix the problem. I think something is damaging the belt. Try to follow closely the route of the belt {WITH ENGINE OFF} and see if you can see something interfearing with the belt, and check pulley alignment, loose bolts etc.
If the problem isn't found you will damage the new belt as well.
