Compare your oil temp. and your water temperatures. If the water temp is 200 for example, and your oil temp is 225, then that would tell me that the piston rings may be set too tight in their bores when the engine was freshened.

This can rob power like crazy and prematurely wear internal engine parts.

Good idea. However I have neither guages nor do I have a OBDII datalogger. I'll have to get that added soon.

his motor was honed out when it was rebuilt so it's deffinetly not too tight...plus each ring was checked before putting them on the pistons...and before dropping in the pistons to ensure this wasn't the case...which makes this statement correct:

Thats not possible... Hubie and his mechanical apostles are perfect!

What was the measured ring end gap and piston to bore clearance? What is the OEM spec range?

sorry didn't bother to take it into long term memory...it was checked and was good....that's why we have the "bible" that we use....from everythign we have documented to date...etc...something in the .015-.017 range sticks out in my head...however, like I said I am not sure so don't quote me on that...the reality is the power isn't there because the car HAS NOT been re tuned since the rebuilt...

the dyno Dom went to has inconsistant A/Fs all the time...first time I went there said my car was lean...next time car was rich....nothing was changed between runs...whatever the case...even if the A/fs were perfect...the car has not been tuned....to make the power he was told he can now achive...that being the 280-290 range...

how those shift light sales for the 97 dodge?

P.S. Dom...I told you if you want the car tuned to call Jason...and make an appointment...I'll be happy to do it....Hubie is NOT coming back to AZ....

I'll get that dyno-tune as soon as the punch list of items are complete on the car. Supposed to have the issues resolved in about a week.

You guys ever consider road tuning after dyno tuning as a way of zero-ing in on real conditions, like real air flow through the intercooler, range of throttle openings, etc?

Yes, After the first dyno-tuning the APEXi, Hubie had me drive the vehicle while he messed with A/F settings on the APEXi..
