Fitting 02-03 exhausts on 05's

Has anyone tried and suceeded at fitting an earlier model exhaust on an 05? I am really interested in getting the Magnaflow for my 05 convert, and wouldn't mind doing some modifications to it to get it to fit. What would be involved in something like this??

The hangars changed in Jan, 04. Doubt they will fit without some kind of modification. Convert might be a totally different issue.

I mounted an early version Borla Street on my '04 MCS. I only used the outboard hangers and left the inboard ones off. Never had any problems with the fit or anything else. In order to use the inboard hangers I would have had to have the hangers cut off and rewelded to fit the new configuration.

It definitely can be done. My '02 MCS Borla exhaust was fit onto an '05 MCS with modification to the hangers by a local shop.

Does anyone have pictures of the undersides of an 02-03, versus and 04-05 and an 05 convert?

Here's what I did...

For my Remus exhaust designed for 02-03 minis on my '05....
I cut off the inside hangers and mounted the exhaust no problem. I then went to my friend with a mig wielder and had him wield on new inside hangers (essentially just bend peices of SS rod) with the exhaust on the car. Worked perfectly.
