I want to get the rouge exhaust for my cooper, but am not car savvy at all. Hence Ill need it installed. Is there any sort of place who will install it for me and not charge 95 bucks an hour? Like a Mineke or something?

NYIllustrator,

I'm certain that any muffler shop would do it for you without it costing a fortune.

For anything more than the exhaust, I recommend contacting your local chapter of the BMWCCA and asking who the local guru is (and there always is one). They are usually a good shop that is reasonable and supports the club as well as participates in the local racing scene - always good for some practical experience that most dealers don't get a sense of. Check out http://www.bmwcca.org to find a contact for your local region.

From your name, I would guess you aren't close to Colorado, or we would be happy to do it for you - and we only charge $65 an hour (or a good case of beer).

Hope that helps! If you need any more help finding a shop, feel free to give me a call and I'll be glad to help you out.

Not a bad hourly rate. I tipped my auto body place a half rack of beer for doing an awesome job on one of my cars. They were soooo suprised! Actually I snuck up on them. My wife has picked the car up the day before. I went back there and walked in and told him who I was and asked him if he could come out to the car for a look-see. With his head hung low, he came out. I pointed "See that there.......it's the best body work I've ever seen!" Smiling I opened the back door to a large pack of light beer. I said "I hope you don't mind Bud Light." He said he prefered Coors Light. I said "tough" as I handed him the goods, and we both smiled. Being that this was the friday night before the superbowl, I could only image the fun he had with the beer regardless of being the wrong brand!

I just asked about and found a reputable muffler shop. It only cost me $25 as one of the guys just did it on the side. Not much with to do when it's a simple bolt on.

I believe Rogue does installs and they're in Northern NJ. Why not give them a call?

I really like what I've read about the Rspeed Cooper Exhaust - now I just wish I could hear/see one in person.

I had Rogue install mine at their open house in October - they had a free install that day. Good thing I'm impulsive...

Randy and some others gave their opinions on the RSpeed in the Exhausts for the non-S crowd thread.

I know according to Grassroots Motorsports, the Helix made the most power. The Rogue is the lightest of the bunch (21 lbs) and has a real nice finish. Rogue has some sound and video clips on their website of the both the MC and MCS exhausts. I don't know much about the RSpeed though. My car dyno'ed extremely well down at Helix, better than it should have but it could not be pinned to the exhaust. Does the car FEEL like it has more grunt? Certainly...of course my next step is to do the lighter rims and tires and a cold air intake - if anyone ever makes one for the Cooper that produces real power.

The Viper looks like it does about 10HP or so - but it's over $300.

Hadn't looked at the Helix exhaust.... Now I'm curious.

Here's one place to see the Viper intake.

They claim 12+ HP. (I'm telling myself 10+)

Still waiting for some published hard numbers regarding cold - air intakes. Like Grassroots or European Car. K&N has the new Typhoon intake as well...just not ready to drop the cash on the intake. They do look cool, and supposedly sound nice as well. Haven't met any MC owners that have done it yet...

Exhausts - I like the Rogue a lot. The RSpeed is very nice as well, and has a factory appearance to the tip. I haven't had the RSpeed up on a dyno - but I think they have. It's tough to get much from the Cooper though to be honest. The Rogue has made the most power I've seen so far - but it still isn't near as much as we've seen for gains on the S.

Intakes - The Viper makes the most power; it is pricey. I'm also working on a Tornado intake from Green Filters, UK. It has a lot of promise, and it will probably be significantly less cash. Dyno numbers will be forthcoming.

Hope that helps!

I have one of their prototypes on my S.

Just curious.
