Are you putting one in your car? or do you know someone who is going to try it?
Either way, thanks for posting and please let us know how it goes.

yes, I have one on order. My tranny is noisey and seems to have a lot of backlash. To me it feels like the diff. It has over 100k miles on it anyway, so I figured I'd give it a shot before buying a new tranny. I should have it installed in a couple of weeks.

I know this is a ford thread, but are there any obx's installed in a mini?

Hey, if you can use an extra set of hands when the install begins, let me know, and I'll do my best to help however I can...

If you haven't already done so, you might want to chat with Alain (J Propane) as he went down this path (Ford), and he hit some speed bumps. Heck, maybe he posted in this thread! I forgot...

Tony, that was for the full tranny. Pretty sure the internals will all fit. Just never finished the project. Parts are scattered in a box...somewhere....

I don't believe there are any obx's in a MINI yet, you are the first i've heard that plans to install one. For the price, I have seriously considered using it.

I'm just wondering about the durability, if it fails for whatever reason, swapping it out is not a big deal, just a pain in the a$$.

How long does it take to remove and reinstall the tranny with two people who don't have a lift, but just some nice floor jacks?

Thanks for the offer, but I have some extra hands. Heck, I live next to one of my co-workers (to bad for him). You are welcome to check it out though. I will take some pictures as well.

Obviously the quality concerns me, but like I said, it is just an attempt to breathe life into an old box before getting a new one.

I recieved the lsd today and it looks pretty beefy. I plan to crack it open and have a look before the install.

about a day, maybe two depending on the number of trips tools etc... I'v done it before and it could be done in half a day if you were focused and prepared. A few hours in the shop.
