Did that engine spin a bearing? What did the crank shaft look like? How often did you change your oil and what kind of oil did you use?

The crank was destroyed, all the bearings were still in place, 10 - 30 oil.
I really think it was the miles and how hard I drive the car. I have really beaten the **** out of it. I am shocked that it lasted as long as it did. I have broken rental cars in three days driving the way I drove my mini for thrree years.

3 days vs. 3 years!?! I guess that's a testament to our stout lil MINI versus other cars. I know how hard you drive...I've been on fun-runs with you...and you don't leave anything on the table.

Well I guess its time for my story

Although my story is not complete yet. My car will be @ the dealer for 3 weeks tomorrow. Engine really didin't explode but is being replaced.

My story is as follows (if you read my blog I am sorry if I bore you:
Dec 05 - Go to dealer with SES and EML lights. Told Head gasket needs to be replaced. 2 weeks latet I get the car back.
Jan 06 - I noticed some coolant in my oil
Marc 06 - Stop by dealer on my car home and ask them to check my oil. There is in fact coolant in my oil. I made an appt for a week later to bring my car in to have it looked at. They say they plan to replace my cylinder head.
March 7, 2006 - Dropped car off.
March 8, 2006 - SA calls and says the tech did a cylinder pressure test and think my Oil Catch Can isn't allowed enough air in and out of the crankcase. So I told them to remove what they had to make the diagnosis as easy as possible.
March 10 - Told the head is fine and that some governing body abbrev. PUMA wants to replace my "long block".

Well 2 weeks since them the dealer got in the wrong engine and supposely is getting the correct one in. All of this as far as I know is being done under warranty and there has been no mention of any cost.

Every time I turn the key, my engine explodes about 30 times a second.
If I try, I can get it to explode about 225 times a second.

Here's our supercharger (back in the day) as it grinded itself to a hault.

Hard to see (if you look at the edges of the fins you see the 1000's of horizontal lines), but every mm of the edges of all the fins where grinded to fine particules. As it grinded to death, the chucks enlarged. Ultimately, half penny weight chunks were throughout the manifold and cylinder walls, head, cam lobes and bearings were carved with the beginnings of a Picaso.

We drained the oil and were served a nice tall glass of chocolate milk, groovestand style, with chucks

Not to mention the flaking of the coat on the screws.

So, in regards to your failure, what mods/specs were you running then? How many miles? What kind of driving? Thanks!

The 02 had 16K miles with Full exhaust, ECU, intake and 15%. Driven by my wife, expressway only. Actually took the Cooper to BMW @ 6 months old, and asked about a rattle it had (like shaking marbles in a plastic bottle) but the said it was normal. It wasn't... Never took it to BMW again. Rebuilt the motor myself because imagine what warranty was going to say w/ a pulley on it.
