Just bought the Borla Race (now with sound)

After going back and forth I pulled the trigger on a Borla Race for my CooperS. Will get it installed next week.

Its too quiet.

I used to be able to hear my wife's MR2 Turbo a half block away when she was coming home. Now, she's in the driveway and I dont hear it in the house

It burbles good though. Check out Randys new exhaust with the cutover valve. that might be really cool.

I wonder why you need to hear your wife coming half block before she gets home.

On a serious note; I am soppose to be getting my Borla exhaust next week too (Friday), but it is for my non-s MC.

I was wondering when someone would think of that

Actually, just used to it. (you know, so you can clean up the house real quick before she gets there)

Will it? I don't want the exhaust too loud. Should I get the resonator? Sorry to thread-jack.

You will really like the Borla. I have the Borla race exhaust on one MINI and the Borla Sport on the other. I like them both. The race is a lot louder. They both sound great. The Borla has a deeper sound than most of the others which is what I like. I do not want my car to sound like a weed eater which is the way a lot of the after market exhaust sound in my opinion. The Borla sport shakes the house when we pull it in the garage. I am not to concerned about someone hearing me coming because I know they hear me as I pass them (kinda like a F15 fighter jet ).

Don

I've had several supersprints on other cars. They are usually a lot more expensive that the other catbacks but also built well. They are usually a bit louder as well.

Listen here http://www.hordonline.com/ministuff/...print_drag.mpg

Pretty sure thats with the resonator.

You can here my borla race here https://home.comcast.net/~chows4us/images/mini2.WMV

(lousy video, no where near redline)

SCHWEET MAN!!!

Still enjoying my Borla race. One of my neighbors just mentioned how cool my car sounds as it gets fired up in the garage, said it sounds like a hot rod.

The other neighbors just say it vibrates things in their houses.

enjoy!

I love my Borla and get a number of compliments on it each week. It is not obnoxiously loud and my neighbors actually like it! Always a plus...

Hmm, I dont think its loud at all, in fact, was a bit disappointed. Now Randy's new exhaust might be a whole new ballgame!

I picked up my Cooper S with the Borla Race system installed last night just before I left for a business trip to Florida. It looks really good and the car sounds freaking awesome. I was actually sad to have to put it in the garage instead of driving it. As soon as I am back I'll post images/soundclips.
Along those lines, my mechanic who has a foreign car shop and drives a Cooper S himself was so impressed with it that he wants to get one for his car.

I don't lie to kick it, just mentioning is all. Your right though about the system Randy is puting out, that thing should be loud at wot.

The one thing I didn't like about my Borla was all the fiberglass that blew out for over 10,000 miles after I got it. Expect to see the fibers on your rear window, also expect to get a little itchy after washing, do the back last. Don't forget to warn the old lady and kids.

A few buddies of mine with Miltek and Magnaflow never had this issue, but whatever. I like it!

Have a good one all!

Borla Race

Moskito, have you had a chance to drive it on the freeway? I am wondering if it has an annoying drone or not. Sounds awesome reving, thanks.

I need some lessons on HTML-URL-PIC, etc My Borlas front resonator also crapped out and I replaced it with a 16" glass pack and had a custom dual 3" DTM stainless tips which acts like a megaphone. The Webb cylinder assembly and Miltek header also amplifies everything. When she goes over 4000rpm, it sounds like a Vtech as the sound clearly becomes heated. Sounds very meaty but not obnoxiously so. Blasting through a tunnel is insane At least my wife hasn't complained and she can't stand the Harley's decibels...

From what I've heard, the guy with the twin SuperTrapp is the loudest. I've heard Maximus's TC Mini before the blow up and that is painfully loud too.

Headers always make exhausts louder. Suppertrapps are just about open pipes
