miltek modd

Hey guys - ive got the miltek catback.. frankly, its not loud as i thought.. and want it LOUDER

what modds can i do that are cost effective to make the exhaust louder?

1) headers? (thinking of OBX right now )
2) getting rid of the resonator and making a custom straight pipe from the cat?
3) anything else?

im hoping one of the geniuses on this forum can help.

thanks.,

I dunno...I've got the magnaflow catback and its loud. BUT both options 1 and 2 will make it louder, however, they may result in some rasp or an undesireable change in pitch/tone of the exhaust note.

Getting rid of the resonator would probably help make it louder. Have the exhaust shop cut it out and weld a straight pipe on there. Also it would deff. leave more room to be able to mount a short shifter with out any issues for the future if you go that route.

You could also modify the Miltek and the rear valance to have the pipes come straight out from the mufflers instead of going through the middle. THis would increase the noise a good bit

I just added the OBX exhaust (299.00) and it will give you all the sound you seek! see thread on OBX exhaust - sound clips included. I also posted a product write up. The nice thhing is that on the highway its quite but when you wind out the car to redline it lets everyone know.

you can put a microphone on the exhaust and play it on your stereo.

I would do the header first and see if that is loud enough before chopping everything up. Folding the back seats makes it a bit louder as well.phil.

Just make sure you don't cross the polarity wires or else you'll get active noise cancellation.

Remove mufflers and have straight pipes bent for you at a muffler shop?
