Thump sound coming from below E-Brake area..Help?

I have a 2005 MCS with about 3k miles. When I begin to accelerate I hear and feel a loud thump that seems like it's coming from below the E-Brake area. Any ideas what this could be?

Most likely a loose front exhaust hanger. I've broken two...

I went under the car and checked what I could without taking anything off and grabbed the exhaust and tried to move it and everything seems tight except without taking off the heat shield, I can't see much. Would I be able to see the exhaust hanger without taking anything off. Because I checked what I could and it seemed fine.

Are you sure it's not just the ABS self-test?

I have the same problem with my 02, spent heaps of time trying to find the problem with no luck, You would swear the exhaust is hitting the floor under the drivers seat area, but its nowhere near it, The only thing I can find is the engine moves heaps on the engine mounts

That is EXACTLY what is happening. So is it the engine that's moving that's making it. Does yours still do it.

Yes mine is still doing it at the moment, the car is off the road for another reason, so I havnt sorted it out yet, Got a feeling its the gearbox mount (near the throttle body) thats the culprit!!!!

It has slowly got worse over time and has started doing it on deceleration and reversing is also bad.

John.

My 03 MCS did that and it was some bolt that had fallen off on a shield or something...it was an awful noise. They fixed it up quick..I hope that's all you have.

Dealer said that whoever installed the full Miltek exhaust did not do it correctly. They tried to fit it in the stock hangers which doesn't work to well so he said that that is the noise that I'm hearing. So once I get that fixed I'll update again to see if that's really the problem but It probably is.
