Drivetrain Exhaust mod??
Exhaust mod??
Hey guys i have seen a couple of people who got rid of one of their mufflers in the back as a cheap way to gain power. How much does this help, power wise, and how does it sound? Thanks
I have the one-ball -
Comments
1) "conversion piece" for 125.00 plus install 25.00
2) makes the car a TAD louder.
3) weight loss of 20 lbs.
4) ideal for the budget consious that wants to complement a CAI.
If you are seeking a sexy sport tone - this will not do it.
If you are seeking purely numbers (HP) - this is the way to go for the $. I read an articule somewhere that compared stock, to magnaflow and to supersprint. The sum of the articule was that BMW desgined an excellent system and the other two systems produced only minor HP gains - these systems ran from 800 to 1200.

You can expect 10 min from a good cat back, 1 to 2 with a one ball, but that is questionable as there is not a way to verify that small of a gain. If it makes you think it's better, then go for it.

But its a good weightloss on the wrong end of the car. Plus its only going to set you back about $50. One ball if you care to do a search.
