The ultimate Cooper S air intake?

I found this interesting... BBR have developed a ram air intake that uses the OEM intercooler location to take the pressurized air from the hood scoop as part of their new 300hp turbo kit. Of course you could only use this if you had a front-mount intercooler, and it doesn't appear to be compatible with the OEM throttle-body location. Details... details. If you wanted to use this without buying their complete turbo kit, you'd have to first convince them to sell it separately, and second, fabricate a hose to connect it to the OEM throttle-body location. Still, it's fun to contemplate... Here's the URL: http://www.bbrgti.com/minit.php

that's the best package I have seen; ditching the s/c, top mt intercooler and snoots does give room, eh?

my guess is they used the mini waterpump, belt driven, low mounted in the front and the high mount alternator location and the mini belt and tensioner. that gets some extra real estate for front mount intercooler connections

But then they leave the stock box in? Does it have another purpose, like holding the ecu or fuse box on?

The stock airbox is now a food warmer. Just toss in your burrito w/cheese and it comes out pipin' hot. Not as fast as a microwave but after a few laps around the track your burrito will be sufficiently warm.

Yeah, the price is a bit high. £17 950 is about $31,500 USD just for the turbo kit and installation!
