I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you

Jeez, that's the second time tonight I've had to use that line.

There are several products coming down the line, from MINI-Madness and others, that are very exciting. We all just want to make sure that they are developed on our own cars, not yours. I appreciate vendors like Helix, Turner, MINI-Madness, and BMP who don't throw items up on their online catalog before they have some real testing done.

Some of the products are already in the third design, and have yet to come to market based on small tweaks that make it right.

Patience will soon pay off. Keep an eye out on MCO and MINI-Motorsport. As soon as it comes available RELIABLY, it will be there.

Oh come on now, it won't do any harm to have me salivate in my chair thinking about the products until I see them on the website will it???

Well, I'm working on them with other manufacturers who aren't quite ready to commit.

Here's a teaser:

ECU programs based on your modifications
Pulleys
Throttle bodies
Cams
Carbon Fiber hoods
Electric water pumps
Header with highflow cat
Trick coilovers
BIG brake kit
Great brake pads for street and race compounds
Rotors with wicked cool (for my Bostonian friends) internal cooling vanes
Hollow adjustable swaybars for front and rear

While some of this is being tested currently, some of it is in the sesign phase - so you won't see all of these products pop out at the same time. You may even see them on the market before I carry them. I want to be sure that you aren't the guinnea pig for the product development - so I'll have them tested before I offer them.

Just sit tight in that chair of yours, I'll be sure to let you know when new stuff comes out.

Trick is a racer's term meaning very well done, neat, excellent, groovy, keen, nice, sweet.

I have taught them how to fetch - very fun to watch.

I agree totally with Randy in regards to the 'coming soon' phrase most tuners give. They need their time to test the stuff so it all works ok by the time we buy it. I'd much rather wait awhile then to get the mod right away have a whole slew of problems occur.
I really can't stand it when tuners place a product on their site with the 'coming soon' message on it, and then stays like that for months on end. I realize testing needs to be done and some hurdles may come up that need to be dealt with. But I think a better plan would be to place it up on the site maybe around a couple weeks prior to being ready, after most of the testing has been done.
Sounds like we're going to have some wicked running MINI's with all the mods that are on the table and back burner.
Patiently waiting.
Cheers,

Could you possibly send me an email at acepinhunter@yahoo.com . I might be interested in talking to you about ordering some items. Thanks for all your help.

At our latest club event, Forest Grove Rally, George had a display table with some parts on it. He had flown up a guy from CA (M7 Sports I believe was his company name) who is going to be working with Madness on things in the near future. They had a head with smoothed intake and exhaust ports. REALLY dramatic difference to the touch!! Let's see, what else..oh ya...the M7 guy was also talking about improving the intake/exhaust tubing to the supercharger to get it to flow better, which would be awesome as it wouldn't involve changing the pulley for more power. But on that note, they were also considering the 15% pulley option, but moving the water pump to a stand alone electric one, and not keeping it on the supercharger pulleys. Also had a tapered/bored throttle body. I also know he's hashing out something on a short shifter that will be much easier to install than the Alta one on the market currently. Speaking of Alta, they were at our meet and were showing off some of their products as well. Saw their intercooler mister finally. Pretty nifty. Had a new intake surround piece that replaces the current black plastic piece. Sealed on the back three sides where the hood meets the intercooler cover, and on the front of the piece is a little 1" high tip that spray water over the intercooler. They also had some nice silcon hoses.

I'm sure I can scrounge up pictures of it all, just let me know.

Well, the head and the throttle body wouldn't look different necessarily. So a picture really doesn't do them good. I'll try to find a picture of the adjustible chrom-ally (sp?) control arms he had out too.

As far as the Alta mister, I'll what I can do there, too. I was just so busy running around that I didn't get a chance to really stuff my camera under their hoods.

This post is titled "Mini-Madness Upgrades". Am I missing something or does Mini-Madness = Mini-Motorsports?

No there is George Mehalik's http://www.MINI-Madness.com and then there is Randy's http://www.minicoopermotorsport.com . Randy sells Madness products, but the two are not the same.

Vince,

No MINI-Madness does not = MINI-Motorsport.

While George and I work together on some products, I also supply BMP, Helix, Turner, H&R, LEDA, Magnaflow, Borla, H-Sport (coming soon), and also had the idea for the water pump first as far as I know. I'm also working with Garrett and other chip tuners, as well as brake component manufacturers.

MINI-Madness and I both have the interest of performance parts for the new MINI as our sole market, and George has come up with some very good products, which is why I recommend the Rogue intake (which is the same as the Madness) and the Quicksilver (as well as the Borla, the Magnaflow, and after some testing, perhaps some others), and the rear swaybar.

The main difference is that I provide several different product lines to be able to cater to exactly what people want for their car. For example, I could put together a package for a car with the H-Sport camber adjustment, the Madness rear swaybar, the LEDA coilovers, the BMP intake and strut brace, the M& throttle body and headand the Garrett software. It all depends on the cost and performance goals of the customer.

I hope that clears things up a bit. If you have any questions, let me know. As new parts are developed, there will of course be some intermingling of the stuff that's available. I will continue to test and develop parts, and only then recommend systems.

Randy
