Anyone know what the piece with the white circle around it is? It is on the Forge test car. See picture

Thanks,
Dave

Some sort of sender for a gauge. After intercooler temp or perhaps boost, but if it is boost the sure went through alot of trouble.

I was going to say temp sensor of some sort, but the hose leading away from it looks more like a vacuum hose. My first guess is still a sensor of some sort...

I was wondering if it could be a blow-off valve. Not sure it that's an electrical connection coming off it or a vac. line.

Injector?

Any chance its an injector of some type? NOS? the small line going to it looks almost like the same connector as on a motorcycle break line...

Its definately not a blow off valve i can tell you that, but other than that it could be water injection

Nos

That's the same place that Randy from M7 has his fifth injector for his NOS bottle.

I am still guessing some kind of "top secret" bypass valve to replace the funky stock butterfly plate. The excess boost from coming off teh throttle gets "dumped" back into the intake. The little tube really looks like a vac line maybe tee'd off the FPR ala Andy's VGS mod.
Well any one with a better guess?

The only thing that would make sense in that location would be an injection of some kind - water, alcohol, or NOS. I would guess the first two as the valve’s purpose is more than likely designed to adjust flow and spray pattern. But it is just a guess.

It’s where the flux capacitor connects.

I write to Forge Motorsports and they replied with the answer.

Well, all I can say is that I went to Forge headquarters only yesterday and got chatting with the staff there. I even got the manager out to have a chat about MINI parts. We got talking about the thingy in the picture...

It was a failed attempt at fitting a blow off valve, not a temp sensor location. It didn't work because of the presence of a stock bypass valve they told me. This was from the manager of the whole operation and one of his mechanics. Forge is a UK based company based in my home town btw (Gloucester)

I got one of those intake hoses as well as some silicon hosing for the VGS mod. I can't wait to see the results

Cheers,

Henry
