First performance mod after 3 days

Ok, I'm sure I'm not a record. And I was going to wait until after 2000 miles or so when I put in the 15% reduction pully. But that damn Alta air intake was sitting in my living room saying, "put me in, put me in."

So after only have the car for 3 days (but 450 miles, good long Memorial Day trip) I put it in. Does feel like it's pulling a little better (though I can't rev past 4500rpm so I can't really step on it since I'm still in break in period), but MAN what a difference in sound.

Took me about 1 hour (using Randy Webb's beautiful detailed instructions). I'm sure I could do it in a half hour if I did it again.

So what's other peoples record for putting performance mods in after getting the car? (Mods installed by dealer or already in car do not count. Nor do non-performance mods like the auto window up mod, which I did the first day)

2nd MINI

Just picked up my 2ND 2005 Yellow/Black roof MINI-S, and after 200 miles installed the 17% pulley, Alta cool intake and the new set of iridium electrode-NGK performance 1 step-cooler spark plugs. ( My 1st MINI-S 2003 is Red)

I am just beside my self, very hard trying not to step on gas past 4500 RPM's...Just hurts to wait!

The performance is just awesome!!!!!!!! In 1st and 2nd gear, not going over 4500RPM pulled away from 19% pulley upgraded MINI! The new 2005 software is just the ticket-should be retrofitted on all MINI back to 2003. Also the LSD is just must for the speed and cornering control...best $500 investment I made.

Full set of pictures, including my 1st Red MINI-S also installed 17% are on the www.USMiniClub.com

Next week are the 4 Alta Rally lights and rear anti-sway bar with struts!

I put on a set of 4 new wheels in less than 50 miles, to be exact, the next morning after delivery. Don't know if you consider that is performance upgrade, but at least each corner is about 6 lb lighter after the mod.
