exhaust..

so im in the market for an exhaust system for my 05mcs. im looking at the miltech, alta. ive searched, read and watched vids. but i would like info from people that live with it everyday. after selling my honda for a mini i want to stay away from drone. i do alot of highway driving and got really sick of the loud honda note. im looking for a system with a low tone and no drone. if you guys could help me with some info on the alta and miltech.
thanks,
tim

I have had a milltek catback sytem for close to a year and milltek headers for about 6 months. I drive about 75 miles a day, with the catback system alone, there was a nice low tone but the sound is civilized and not overbearing. With the header the tone is a little louder especially when reved pasted 4k, I have noticed no drone however. IMHO you can't go wrong with milltek.

i had the Borla Street on my late 04 MCS and enjoyed the sound under WOT but had no problems on long highway runs, i will be upgrading to the Race on my 06 however. but everyone i know that has the Milltek has been very happy with it, it's probably the best all around choice on the market

Coming from Hondas, I had the same concern! After doing some research (such as you did), I decided on the Milltek! I could not be any happier! I have been told that the car sound meaner (lower sound while not sounding cheap), and I can carry a conversation within the car all day long! The supercharger and CAI make more noise! I have been happy with the power gains, very noticeable in my opinion. Any the beauty part about it, it is only 3 pieces to put together!

I have the Milltek also. I added the header for a bit more sound at WOT, but with out the header the system is very livable day to day and the car has a great sound when you get on the gas. I also feel they have one of nicer tip designs on the market. You can not go wrong ! Hope that helps, good luck.

I come from a Prelude I had some years ago running a GReddy
Evo exhaust. It had no drone... it wasn't that loud, just a clean dry
tone.

Im currently running a Milltek catback, no drone either. For my taste, it is
a tad too quiet but it's got a nice British flavor which ive never heard from
a Japanese exhaust before which makes it unique for me.

I'd consider the Indivia on my MCS if i was to do it again.
mypocketrocket has one and it sounds GOOOD! can't
beat the craftmanship on those j-exhausts. not sure about
gains on that exhaust though, other than its coolness.

Invidia is made by a Japanese tuner.

Milltek is made by a British tuner.

No... Milltek is manufactured in the UK (typically European cars), Invidia manufactures exhaust systems primarily for Japanese cars!

The dyno numbers that Invidia gave me when looking at there system showed less HP from around 3500 to 5000 rpms. it might look good, but it needs better HP numbers to back up the sound.

Agokart,

Thank you!

Eeeww..That car has a really low torque..eh? less than 125hp!!

Base on the dyno, that's why I feel a little boost at 5K up.

I think most of the aftermarket exhausts improve HP and torque at hi-rpm just like that, doesn't it?
