limp mode = belt slip?

I have had this happen a couple of times during very hard acceleration.

The street I live on is 2 1/2 mi. long and the speed limit is 30. It is a 2 lane blvd. with runners and bikers tooling down in bike lanes. You have to go slow.

When I get to the end and turn on to the main road if there is no one there I like to give it a go. Tonight I went into limp mode. I pulled over to make sure the belt was still on and then restarted the car. The car ran fine after the restart, no problem. Is this a loose belt?

Don't know without pulling the code.

My car went into limp mode with belt slip a few months ago. Got the belt replaced as it was worn. Hasn't happened since.

Best thing to do it have the code pulled from the ECU.

Could be belt slip. I know of a Mini that supposedly had it's pulley slipping on the SC shaft. The car limped and then even failed to run.

I don't know. I think it was/is when I "goose" it sometimes the belt slips. The 2 1/2 mi drive to the main road probably did not "warm" it up enough. BTW, I have an oit temp gauge and I am very careful not to drive hard before the oil warms up

I stopped the car and restarted and everything was fine. I drove away slowly. Last night I drove the car harder with no problems. I'm thinking the belt may be worn some (19%). R peed is going to check it out Wednsday. I'll post the results
