I was watching away...

and I guess others saw the post. Needless to say, I'm sure your server is getting hammered, because my playback locked up! Boo hoo hoo.

And congrats! Now, can I get that for under a thousand dollars?

How much does this car weigh? Isnt a stock cooper s around 2800lbs? If so, that would bring the power/weight to just over 6.5lbs/1hp!!! Isnt that like a ferrari 360?

Is this how a typical dyno run is conducted?

I've never watched a automotive dyno run before, and am excited to see one. It looks like the way this one was conducted was to run part-way up the tachometer in first gear, part-way up the tach in 2nd gear, then shift into 3rd gear and floor-it up to redline.

Is that the way a dyno run is typically conducted? Not having seen one, I imagined a much slower run-up toward red-line under full throttle, controlled by varying the load the dynamometer presents, so that the power measured is closer to steady-state.

How can congrats not go out for such achievement?! Awesome work guys

Would love to hear what ingredients went into this run, and what boost level was reached to get such an output...

Again, congratulations!

yes, that is a standard dyno run. Done in 3rd to prevent wheel slip (which completely messes up the figures) and I am sure there is another reason.

Im guessing its calibrated for 3rd too... Do you need to give gear ratios, etc before you do a run?

does this mean he is only running a really large turbo with huge injectors and serious cooling system?

Power runs are typically done just like this either in 3rd or 4th gear, whichever is closer to a 1:1 ratio for the particular car.

Load testing, like you described, is good for tuning (assuming the dyno is capable), but that assumes that you have a tuning aid capable of making adjustments at specific load/throttle/rpm settings.

Does anyone know if Hubie is still trying to use the SAFC or has he switched to something more capable now?

Amazing. Is he planning to sell his modification as a kit, or is it just a test for him to see how far he can push his car?

Also, Is he running all of that power through stock pistons, etc?
