"The silver strip option" why didn't I think of that.
Now I have to make molds, pour silicone, stare at it untill it hardens

I'm telling you, just provide a small roll of duct tape or better yet some pre-cut sheets with 3 strips on them. You could even have an order form on the back to order more pre-cut sheets.

Of course they would have to have the m7 logo on them or they just wouldn't have the same rain stopping effect!

G-Stock

Does anyone know if the AGS would eliminate you from G-Stock class?

How much of a concern are rain, puddles, or car washes with the AGS by itself? Does the filter effectively deter water from entering the TB? Is it El Nino-proof?

I ran through the auto-wash (touchless type with full on jets of water) and then lifted the hood and found little to no moisture under the hood except in the normal places. The filter itslef was still pretty dry.

I wouldn't worry about it but would still plug it up. Keep in mind I did this without a plug at all.

I'm not sure I'm following this discussion. Are we saying that with the AGS the filter is positioned such that it will/could get wet/draw water in if the car is driven in the rain? And what part of the car are we proposing to block/plug to avoid this problem? .

It's possible, that is why I want to know how well this plug will work and if it will stay in place. Cause you know when your on the freeway and in the rain you may not know if the plug falls out. So I would like to be confident on how snug it will be.

What exactly are you planning on plugging?

I think they are talking of plugging the air inlet behind the grill.

Onto the water in the intake (Hydrolock) I believe such a thing was explained to me to happen only under the worst conditions. Such as driving through standing water.

I'm just trying to get a feel for the affect that rain would have on an AGS-equipped car and what the remedy would be if it is deemed to be an issue. I'm curious how much cold air it would get if the inlet is plugged.

Well one thing I know is you may lose a little HP while it's plugged but it will still be getting plenty of air. This should not be that big of deal since you should be driving slower in the rain anyway . I would rather be protected and lose a little hp during the time of the rain instead of possibly sucking water in and losing the engine.

It looks to me M7 has taken care of this with no problem, I just want to see the rain plug option and know it's going to work.

yummmm!

Is there any point to purchasing the AGS if you have the JCW already installed? Will it fit with the JCW? I'm new, so sorry if the answer is obvious. But I'd certainly make love to the AGS in either case, damn that thing is sexy!

Do some searches on the hot air intake.

This is a non-issue. I have the HAI now, with the filter just behind the hole in the plastic dam, and I've never had problems with heavy downpours or the like. This has been discussed many times. I leave finding the links as an excusize for the interested....

If this is your only worry, go ahead and order away!

Well hey, I mean I always thought 0-60 in sub 6.0 seconds is pretty darn fast but that doesn't seem so.

No worries, it can't fall out. The hood prevents it to come out forward, and
the flange on the plug will prevent it from falling in....

Peter -

What is the plug sticking out of the bottom of the filter? for Inlet air temps?
