Pat, I wouldn't worry about it. I had the wall for the longest time before I drilled two big holes in it and can't feel or hear any difference.
I still got 185whp on the dyno with the wall (and other mods ;-) so who cares...

i have the same intake on my 2005 , if you want the full effect you need to do the complete install. its not hard just follow instructions step by step and it will be done before u know it. it gives a nice sound inside the car im not sure that it bumped up any power because i had it in before i even broke in the car. good luck with it.

 

What happened to your Pilo CAI??
I'm curious to know if you can tell the difference between the two?

 

My dyno run shows changing filter alone there will be negligable HP gains.

Attached is a dyno plot of my car a year or so ago.
There were 3 runs...

There was hardly any HP gains with no filter in the path, so adding a Alta or Pilo filter alone will not add significant HP. All the restriction is in the stock intake tube.
I have not been back to dyno since I added my Alta (with silcone tube and no wall) but my butt dyno says there is slight improvement at higher end. That could be because my wallet is $250 lighter.

Anyway Pat... nice bling under the hood. Remove the wall if you want the extra intake sounds and get the silicone tube for the HP gains.
