So for those of us interested in reaching the 300 mark (ie no cryo) is this a "simple" install or does it require a lot of work?

So to recap the thread so far:
*1.6L "MINI"
*SPI twincharged setup
*101 octane fuel (home brew?)
*7 lbs of cryo on the 340whp peak run
*stock cylinder head, cam, and throttle body

My questions:
What supercharger and ratio?
What turbo model and wheel trims?
How much boost?
What ECU, and fuel injector size?
What does "7 lbs of cryo" mean?

TIA,
Ryan

I'm Disappointed

I'm disappointed in the lack of nay-sayers and "vendor-bashing" surrounding this announcement. Apparently, a vendor can post a single dyno-chart without any substantive backup and "pass the smell test".

Makes me think there may be a double standard here.

I think it's just that they are saying "this is what we got" NOT "this is what you get"

When that statement is made, and not substantiated, THEN the bashing might begin

I get it! you can show a plot and say it from your products but not show an actual product(top secret). You cannot have an actual product without a plot.

Thanks for the clarification.

People, please remember, this is the same Hubie that after he developed the twin-charge unit, he tested it out for a year on his own car putting thousands of hard miles on it. (although I'm not 100% positive about this...he has a couple of other cars used for beta testing as well). Hubie is very meticulous about what he does, before he releases to the public, he's gotta be sure it's going to work and work well. Now that he's had his first twin-charged system available to the public, he appears to be pushing the envelope with his own car to see what can be made better and stronger. I think this graph just might show us where he wants to go with his next kit!

So it's better to sell product w/o any documentation of how it works...

I get it now.....

and for the record this modification is not for sale yet and why would you give the competition the free R&D?

No you need both.(I guess people really are dense.) Competiton a free ride? Like how? Are we asking for his setup? Just what you would need to buy from him..Blanks on either side of the equation are suspect.

All we have from the vendor is a claim of breaking a barrier with a plot. No pic of a car/setup etc...No asking for spec/manufactures.

Isn't it interesting the junk people imagine in their heads. Nothing posted by SPI said these current mods were for sale. I don't think there's one post by anyone in this thread saying it was for sale...other than pcnorton, which to my recollection is not a representative for SPI. You see pcnorton said: "you can show a plot and say it from your products"....

pcnorton, no one, but you, said this is an SPI "product"!!

Ok..ROFLMAO...SPI is advertising something they don't do. I guess this is a M7 accomplishment. Yes I made an assumption that a vendor talks about things they either do or sell. I guess El D was just talking proprietary for products/info that doesn't belong to SPI? Please spare me. A Vendor made a claim of breaking a barrier and posted a plot. Who elses services goods could they be takking about?

the closest to indisputable claims are 1/4 mile track times. then you can **** and moan about traction, poor track surface, etc, all you want, but the ET and MPH are pretty absolute.

They're not "advertising". They're showing a dynoplot of their current work. Just because it's their current work, doesn't mean it's a product. It clearly "appears" they're in development of prototyping right now since neither a part number nor a price was given. The term advertising (remember, this is your word not mine or anyone elses) means getting the word out about a product or service. Since it's neither a service nor a product, they simply, by definition, cannot be "advertising".

Ahh, there! Good. Now you get it. "A vendor made a claim of breaking a barrier and posted a plot." That's all they've done. Period.

Ahh, there! Now you've made that leap and you're imagining things. See now, now you've assumed this is a "services goods". It is not!
