Drivetrain Just got back from the shop.
Just got back from the shop.
A week ago I picked up a used 03 MCS (black / white roof and mirros) with 14,000 miles - in excellent condition.
I joined the board and began researching what could be done to the Mini and asked people for feedback. Via this process I hooked up with Peter from MyMiniparts.com
(happens to be about 50 miles from the house) with the objective of developing the cheapest extra ponies possible. Based on his input and the board posts this is what we did today.
Free airflow #2
15% pulley
One-Ball exhaust Mod.
In parts I spent $445.00
I'm not going top talk numbers because I don't have them but will post the results of a Dyno when I can schedule.
Lets talk seat of the pants - WOW a totally different car. I get a very nice supercharger wine thanks to the free air flow. I have a deeper exhaust note that is very subtle and pleasant all times. Saving the best for last, the pulley just pours on daily usable torque.
This was me driving up
and
this was me driving home
I want to thank you all for it was this board that educated me and Peter for supplying the parts and arranging for the labor.

They have a nice graph too
The fun factor of Modifying a MCS is rewarded with results.
