Autolite XP5703 spark plugs.

Any reason you guys aren't running this plug over the NGK 1422? I put a set in today and they work fine and at $33 a set and a lifetime warranty I'm wondering if there is a reason I haven't seen this plug brought up at all during my searches. FWIW I did knock the gap down to . 024 from . 032.

It would appear that no one is very familiar with this plug....perhaps Autolite plugs in general. I know that I tend to stick with either plugs direct from MINI (in MINI boxes...not the same plugs from Beru or Bosch) or NGK because I've had lots of good experience with them. Regarding the MINI plugs....when you open the box, they are from Beru or Bosch, but based on a friend who was a MINI and Porsche tech for many years his experience with Beru or Bosch branded plugs was not great. To back that up, I ran some new Beru plugs in my race car (B-Spec) that failed after a few races, whereas the replacement plugs that came in MINI boxes were fine. The price difference was a real drawback though. Maybe there are conterfeits out there....

Keep us posted on your experience with these plugs....maybe you've hit on something!

I've been using them for about a 1,000 miles now with the jb+ and all has been well. You will need a thin wall socket to install these.
