Just Upgraded to V39

I just received my May 2002 MCS back from the local MINI dealer with the California recall work done. I have been driving with the Evotech software for quite a long time (about 1.5 years). I have to admit, that at least on my MCS, the V39 software performs very well. I took a co-worker to lunch today and she mentioned that the car seemed to run much smoother than usual. The Evotech program gives a lot quicker throttle response and the power seems much more on tap. But I was fearing the worst from this "upgrade".

P.S. I have the Madness CAI, 15% pulley, and UUC exhaust.

Hmmm, I have similar mods, same CAI, 15% pulley, Magnaflow exhaust, and Evotech on a 10/02 build 2003. I've not yet had the v39 installed as I like the way it runs, much more power and torque than stock, and am concerned about ruining it.

I have another MCS, stock, and had the v39 installed on that and am pleased.

I guess I'm just waiting until my next emissons inspection and will decide what to do. Or get the GIAC to replace the Evotech. The v39 will override the Evotech, correct?

Yes, V39 did override the Evotech, so now I need to decide to send my ECU to Randy to reprogram, or to try another solution. At least in Calif., the first smog test was changed to 6 years, from 4. I am not sure if waiting too long, if MINI will really notify DMV? My dealer did give me a certificate stating that I had the work done in case asked for during my next registration. Good luck in whatever solution you choose.

software

I currently use mth software and like it but I'm facing the v39 for registration recall dilema too. I'm postponing this recall ti'll I decide wether go visit helix for a 19% giac injector job or getting another mth map and continue with the 15% setup.
