Alta Access Port

Does anyone know where I can purchase one of these. Can’t find anywhere?

They have been discontinued for a while. Only place to pick one up would be used somewhere.

Question: Why an AccessPort? Why not a full ECU tune? As far as I know, since it was discontinued, all the AccessPort tunes will be older. You can get a much better tune from a current tuner, than what would be available from an AP.

I don’t really have the time to pull out the ecu and send out for a tune and I’m not sure of any tuners around here (nj) that would be able to do it for cheaper. Also the reason why I like doing it myself is because I can quickly remove the tune/change it up when needed.
is there any other brand that offers that type of accessibility. Again I’m very new (like 2 days) to the MC world.

I assume you have an N14 engine, which is why you are looking for an AP? With the N14 engine, you have options for remote tuning without pulling your ECU.
I would get in touch with member Lou@Prototype-R for a solution.

if you are this new to the N14 then might I suggest doing some homework on what you have. There is a ton of information here on the forum, and from the couple of post that you have posted, it seems like you are an extreme newbie. Look up the threads about Mario kart tunes and the other threads from Lou. They have whole sections broke up here for the different generations of mini’s. And if Alta is the only stuff that you are finding then you sir haven’t looked hard enough. Check out ecstuning.com waymotorworks.com these 2 will put you in a good spot for parts.

As njaremka says, the AP is ONLY useable for the N14. It was discontinued when the N18 was released. Sometimes you can find one in the forum marketplace section, but you need to ensure it was properly disconnected or it won't re-connect to your engine. Hard to find because there are better choices out there.

In defense of the AP, I've been using one for 9 - 10 years, but not for map usage anymore. It has other functions I like to use --- data logging, ECU reset, code ID and reset, function monitoring, and more. I'm using a custom AP tune as my "base map" in my Manic set of tunes.
