Trouble installing new crank pulley

Hello
Ive been trying to install a new crank pulley on my 06 cooper s. I tried heating it like the instructions said (250 for 15 mins) and it only went on part way and not enough to thread the bolt on. Im installing a PRW crank pullley. Its on there good and couldnt get it to budge much. Im not sure what to do now. Any help would be great. Im getting a pulley installer but im afraid its not going to move the pulley and damage the crank threads.

I've heard, and this is through the grapevine, that the PRW crank pulleys have had issues with the proper sizing of the bore. IE, the bore slightly tapers and you can only get them halfway onto the crank before the bore is too small to force it the rest of the way on.

One way to check is to pull it off the crank, use a micrometer to measure the crank diameter and then mic the inside of the pulley bore.

As I've said, this was through the grapevine.

Did you ever get this resolved? I’m having the same issue and I’m just about to give up and send this pulley back for a refund.

I certainly have! Watched many videos as well. Even after heating it in the oven at 275 for 30min it just will not move on the crank without an excessive amount of force. I’m starting to think I was sent the wrong part but can’t confirm since the part number is not on the part itself.

Hmmz, annoying when things do not work out. Are you able to mount the old pulley? And then maybe make the decision to let someone else do it?

I’m waiting on delivery of a puller that will fit the PRW pulley. Apparently the holes are spaced too wide for the Mini specific puller as well as most ”universal” pullers
