Another catch can Q. Yes I searched!

Before I get lynched here, yes I did extensive searching but cannot find an answer.
I realize there are 2 schools of thought on catch can usage and I am not looking to debate that.
I have already purchased 1 and am having second thoughts on location.
It looks like most install it in the pcv to turbo line. Doesn’t this only help keep the turbo and intercooler cleaner? I am trying to negate the oily intake valves after I walnut blast. Doesn’t it make more sense to install it in the pcv to intake line?
Are most people installing 2?
Maybe I am way off here, hence the post.
Thanks for any insight.
Troy

I just installed mine - and will give it some time to actually see any effect - but am thinking two is actually the answer!

Yes, 2 oil catch can would be best for the N14 turbo engine and 1 oil catch can for the N18 turbo engine.

If blow-by is excessive could be the valve cover and/or the PCV system not working properly.

Here is an article

http://www.gtt.uk.com/the-big-r56-co...p-proper-cure/

I went with their solution for he PVC side, but I'm curious why they reduced the hose from OEM 19mm size and the connector are not as seal tight as OEM.

Interesting read. Looks like I may just add 2 then.
Article states that the one to the turbo sucks under load vs the aft one to the intake is when no load, ie no boost. Did not know this.
Thanks for the help peeps!
