Service Position and Removing Subframe...

In preparing for my clutch replacement, looks like there are two steps I need to perform: place front end into service position, and remove front subframe.

Further research shows that placing the front end into service position relies on the front subframe for support... As such, how do I then remove the subframe? Looks like there are a couple of "special tools" used by Mini for such a condition:

Does anyone have any information on these special tools? Or have any insight into my conundrum?

My plan is for clutch, flywheel, all seals, LSD, poly control arm bushings, and MAYBE a larger front sway bar. Haven't made the decision on the sway bar yet... If I don't do the sway bar, I'm going to at least add the poly sway bar bushings.

I put jackstands under the stock jack points.

You really have to dismantle the front end, not just service position, you take the front tubes off the subframe after removing the bumper, support and grill. A trolley jack is handy for supporting the subframe and moving it, it is a heavy piece.

The special tools I have linked above look to allow NOT to have to dismantle the whole front end. I will if I have to, but if I can hold of the special tools, looks like I might not have to.
