Unichip Questions....

Hello all Unichip owners!

I've been looking into this, and there's one part that concerns me. It says that I have to have Unichip tuners make custom maps for my car. What I want to do is log data, and then use that to modify the tune until I'm happy. I don't see why I need to do this on a dyno, all the data is running around the ECU already!

I'm looking for comments, likes and dislikes on the Unichip, and comments on modifcations to maps.

Thanks for any help you all can give!

Matt

Hi Matt,

As with other options out there, the UNIChip can come pre-mapped, I believe up to 11 or so different mod combinations. The fine-tuning is indeed the lure, and that is done on the dyno, at least for now. I've had mine for a while, and I've been using the pre-map, while utilizing the B switch 100% of the time. I have not dyno tuned her yet, but I will do so after some more work to be done...

As I'm guessing that you read all the relevant threads here, there are others on Randy's forum. If you have not yet found his "garage," here it is: http://www.webbmotorsports.com/forums/index.php

Will do as well. I'm looking more for real world experience as to satisfaction with the product, ease of use (how many people use the multi-fuel maps?), problems etc.

Thanks for taking the time.....

Matt
