Mini Mania Announces the Stage 1 Performance Head for the MINI
Nevada City, CA (November 27, 2002) Mini Mania, recognized as the market
leader in MINI Cooper performance parts and accessories, announced today
the availability of the Stage 1 Performance Cylinder Head for the MINI
Cooper.
Designed specifically for street driven MINI's, the Stage 1 Cylinder head
package maximizes torque and horsepower within the portion of the power
band typically used on the street. Air flow is increased a significant 20%
over stock without sacrificing port velocity, and power gains are
potentially 20 30 HP using stock springs and cam.

1) The picture from the MINI Mania site says "calculated increase" (so not an actual demonstrated result from a dyno)
2) The statement in the press release that says "power gains are potentially 20 30 HP using stock springs and cam" and that their site says "depending on parts used in conjunction with this Cylinder Head package, power gains are potentially 20-30HP."
Put everything together and we have a "calculated increase" which "potentially" could be 20 to 30 HP "depending on the parts used in conjunction" with the cylinder head.

I was wondering about this too! I wouldn't pay $1895 for a 10 HP(?) gain...
Also, it doesn't say that it a NEW head unit either...and they require a deposit that is returned when you send back your original one.
Are they porting the original head units and then re-selling them? That's what it sounds like to me.
