Exclamation Tuning, Forged Internals, WHP, and Blown Engines

Has anyone with an Automatic B48 tuned or built the engine? If so, I would greatly appreciate any insight.

I have a '15 MCS B48 auto, and was curious about turning. I was recently told I can't do certain performance mods to the car because it is a automatic. :-(

I wanted to get a custom tune but I was told the most I could get out of a tune would be around 235 to 250 whp because it is a auto and if went with the traditional Stage 2 tune the Low End torque would harm the car. If I had a manual, I could beef up the clutch/transmission to be able to handle the power. But if I installed forged pistons, springs, rods, rings, and have the heads machined I could easily get a "2.5" (my words) stage tune because it's not a true stage 3 tune. By installing forged pistons, springs, rods, rings, and have the heads machined and it would reinforced the engine to be able to handle more power coming into the engine. Custom tune would create ~310whp & 330 ft lbs of torque.

Has anyone installed the following mods:
+ Performance Value Springs Kit (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-supertec...prk-mcb48~spt/)
+ Supertech - Forged Connecting Rods (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-supertec...minb48h1483kt/)
+ Supertech - Forged Piston - 82mm (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-supertec...minb48-82cr11/)
+ Supertech - 82mm Piston Ring Kit (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-supertec...0/gnh8200~spt/)

I currently have the following mods:
+ AWE - s-Flo Air Intake
+ Forge - High Flow Intake Hard Pipe
+ Forge - Intercooler
+ Forge - Hard Pipe Boost Pipe Kit
+ NM Alpha Lowering springs
+ NM 22mm rear sway bar
+ NM End Links

Let us know if you find a way to beef up the transmission so it can safely handle the added torque.

Mariokart can probably give you some good answers in tuning for your car

Levelten transmissions is the only option I've found for Aisin strengthening, but I've not been able to get a hold of them to find out what exactly is improved or how much it can take.

Has anyone installed the following mods:
+ Performance Value Springs Kit (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-supertec...prk-mcb48~spt/)

+ Supertech - Forged Piston - 82mm (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-supertec...minb48-82cr11/)
+ Supertech - 82mm Piston Ring Kit (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-supertec...0/gnh8200~spt/)

Replacing pistons for a MCS makes sense as you can pick the the lowest B48 compression of 9.5., but before I would place a try for a unkown brand like "Suppentech", i would choose Geniune 1125.9.488.343 or Mahle only, bye the way new pistions allways come with rings and pin, i would take the ones of the GP3.

Regarding the rest, you run automatic, here also the new GP3 offers some hints, extra cooler for the transmisson!! integrated Torrsen LSD, completley upgraded heat control, the only thing which stayed even is the Intercooler (For fans over extraweight solutions.)

The latest B48E is the best reference for "Stage 666" tuning. Look at EBAY for upcoming BMW F39 modules. They selling there somtimes ex prototypes cars sold in pieces - search on BMW. Short blocs sometimes get discounted, with the "Main Bearing Bonanza" I shoot a shortbloc for JCW 3.600.--
