Drivetrain 0-60 times
You don't need to go the twincharger route, although it is definitely the fastest marketed kit available right now. You may feel it's overkill though. MINI Mania's Stage III kit has been given a 0-60 of 5.9 and quarter-mile of 14.24 @ 100.02 by Motor Trend, their site is www.minimania.com. Their Stage III kit looks like a lot of fun, something I'll consider in the future for my MINI.

might as well add the nitrous to the twincharge
.... boil tires to your hearts delight..... serve your revenge to your neighbors porsche....priceless.........................
I agree with Zamirz, the biggest impediment to fast 0-60 times in the MCS is traction. My MCS took about 6.4 s to go from 0-60 during a 14.7 quarter mile time. Stickier tires and a better launch technique (my 60-ft was pretty poor) should get a normally modded P/I/E (pulley/intake/exhaust) MCS into the high 5's.
What RPMs is the best to launch at? I had a JCW works Mini, the only times I launched, 3,500 was WAY too high, and I think somewhere around 2,500 hundred got it. Anyone else?

well my mini is gone now (but not forgotten)....
(but i think Tuls is going to rebuild it as a race car so that is even better). And an 05 Works is coming. It was just really obvious when you were to high, as you would spin the wheels around the block.

It depends, I've got 215 whp. Here it Miami humidity really kills your times. In the summer when the engine is cool it around 5.6 seconds, as it get warmer I would say somewhere in the 6.3 area. Now with the temps in the 70s I'm in the in the mid 5's constantly. We will see how they improve as the temps keep on dropping.
