JCW + Racechip + 2K miles = P12a4 :(

Hi guys,

So I have a JCW working fine with the racechip ultimate, for 2K miles, roughly.

I just saw a check engine light coming, after a stall I think (It's a manual).

The code is P12a4.

I feel the car is less powerful than before.

I thought I could remove it with my OBD wifi and iphone app (dashcommand and four stroke).

Turns out, I can't.

What do you think?

Do you know to what this code is linked?

Only solution = Dealer?

Any experience from someone with this code?

I had that code before and was due to a fault pressure sensor. I believe it is fairly common on the F56. I would just remove the Racechip and if you still have a warranty Mini should replace it no issue.

For removing the code, I use OBD Fusion and my wifi dongle

Reseat the Racechip connectors.

So today I’ve disconnected everything, started the car and no CEL on the dash. Checked with the V-link, the code is stored and I cannot clear it.

so I put back the racechip, again no CEL.

but...

I feel the car slower than before, longer to build boost.

I’ve measured with the OBD the boost pressure, I read 13PSI @WOT in 3rd gear.

I’m not sure but am I not supposed to be more in the 16-18PSI range?

any ideas / suggestions before I drop the car to the dealer?

Call or email RaceChip before spending $$ at the dealer.

See if you can get a parts shop like Autozone to clear your code for free.
I found out an old plugin hardware scanner seems to clear codes easier than phone apps.
