Manic Stage 2

Hi,

Had my N18 JCW mapped to Manic Stage 2 today, car runs a Airtec Intercooler, scorpion decat and AEM. It produced healthy figures, drives well and pulls like a freight train, but on the dyno the power graph looked a bit strange. Stock and mode A are a nice smooth curve but then B and C seem to be inconsistent up top end?

Will be asking manic to see if they have any ideas but I was wondering if anyone had the same sort of thing or any ideas what it could be?

Car has no faults codes logged, it did have a code for a valvetronic fault in the history but I’ve owned the car over a year and it’s never thrown a check light.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to re-post your question here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ally-here.html

There is a wealth of information about the manic tune there and several manic tuners who post there. It is your best chance of getting an answer to your question.

Can you data log? Timing, A/F, IAT, rpm, not sure what else would help troubleshoot with your manic dealer.

Hi,

Yes it’s stock clutch, I will see if I can get the data log for the runs, they where recorded I just forgot to ask for them. But we did have a quick look through them and everything seemed to be where it should be in terms of boost, AFR etc.

I tend to wonder if you’re maxing the turbo out ! Before my high compression rebuild I had the same problem then I started running a 47mm turbo with meth !!

Bhp figures, removed the diverter valve today and seems fine but will fit the latest revised valve anyway

I agree with saying that your turbo is just maxed out. its just looks like the power is fluctuating. On Map A target boost is 18lbs which is easy for the S turbo to do. but on MAB B (20lbs) and Map C (21.5lbs) the S turbo has a hard time keeping up with that demand in the upper RPMS.

It’s a FJCW with JCW turbo.

Got some graphs of the air flow and intake pressure, couldn’t get AFR but everything seems fine with that.
