Alta BOV Spring Upgrade?

Hey guys,

So I have a quick question. I bought a Alta BOV spring, I have heard from some friends that it will hurt my engine.

So I am not sure to put it in or not.

I have tried looking it up and there isn't much detail on it. If anyone has any experience with this let me know.

Thankyou

Here's the link to the Spring for some info. http://altaperformance.com/i-1400716...bo-engine.html
I have it on my mini, it helps with holding more boost when you're tuned and takes up some of the delay when you shift and get back into it from the spring closing the DV a little faster.

What were your friends saying, how will it hurt your engine? Did they cite any info or perhaps a link?

No they don't have any evidence of it or are using the spring. But they kind of got me worried about putting it in now, just on the off chance that it did.

I am just trying to get info from people that actually use it.

Won’t hurt the engine at all. When the ecu commands the recirc valve to open the slightly stronger spring will make zero difference in it opening. It will however help hold it closed under boost.

The spring doesn't hurt at all... I ran it for awhile with no issues, upgraded to the billet CRV & boost tap to do vacuum based boost gauging via the P3 multi valve .... it really doesn't effect anything at all.. you'll just have snappier shifts
