The factory JCW coming this summer has some extra cooling added to handle the 231 horses. The foglights are removed due to this, and the right side has an airduct going to an extra cooler.
As far as I have understood, MINI-tuning in the past generations has always had the heat as its arch enemy.
I hope gen3 has better design and tuning-preconditions when it comed to this.
HO-LY SH#T! I never heard of anybody doing this to a Mini. I mean people have put the stock JCW turbocharger on an MCS but not that thing. The stock JCW will do 0-60 5.68 and about 13.3 sec/104 MPH in the 1/4 mile. This thing will be scary. It would blow my motor to smithereens. Hope his holds up.
Above is the heat shield to cover the manifold. The project is moving along nicely. Lots of minor details like new lines for the oil and water for the turbo just completed and installed. So we should be firing the Monsta soon.
Was speaking with my MA yesterday, who happens to be the one that delivered Adria's car, and saw a video of his new Garrett turbo on the car, looks sweet! I would love to see the car in action, I hear the car has like 320hp.

Yeah I saw him taking a lighter to Adria's warranty lol.

... I'd like to assume he took it for a test run a couple weeks ago and hasn't been home since. Out there... somewhere... perma-smile on his face. (queue theme from "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome")
I was wondering the exact same thing. He was stuffing a whole lotta HP into a little bitty motor, last seen searching for his warranty with one hand, fire extinguisher in the other.
