Forge FMIC = great!

Had the Forge FMIC installed in my 2008 R56S last Friday (and did the intercooler muffler delete and installation of the Mini Fini stainless hood scoop grill at the same time.) I'm loving the performance enhancement of the larger intercooler. Definite seat-of-the-pants improvement in acceleration. And, the engine just seems to accelerate more smoothly - no flat spot in the power curve past about 3500 rpm. I've had the chance to drive in some 90 degree-plus days and there is a difference in power (better) when it's warm out.

There were some issues with the install - I had thought that it would be a direct bolt-on, but there was some drilling and cutting involved (which increased the cost a bit.)

My biggest question is why Mini didn't just build these things with a larger IC to begin with?

That's great. It looks very nice also.

The FMINTR56 Forge Intercooler does have install instructions here:

Which show you the mounting.

Thanks

Numbers my friend. Costs less with a small intercooler that will do the job for 90% of the people who by the car. Less money spent means more money earned.
