Drivetrain JMTC Stage 3 clutch

I wouldn't expect the stock DM flywheel to last very long with bolt-ons and a Manic Stage 2 tune, it probably also has to do with how aggressive driver you are. I would recommend to those with worn out R56 clutches to upgrade to at least a Stage 1 clutch with single mass flywheels even it you don't plan on a tune. I wish I knew about JMTC clutches with SM flywheels before I had my DM flywheel replaced by my local Mini dealer a few months ago, could have saved a few hundred dollars.
Just by looking at the SM flywheel it looks like a piece of artwork and boy does the OP have a lot of clutch material on that clutch disk!

Eurotech is in Tempe Arizona.
Check out the manic dealer site. There's one dealer in SoCal. http://www.manicmini.com/dealer-map/4586066233

I might make the drive to Eurotech if they are a well known mini tuner
thanks though

reviving an old thread. Just installed my JMTC stage 3, today was the first drive. While at highway speeds and trying to accelerate it slips. The clutch doesn't feel stiffer than stock in any way! I used 24lbs torque settings on my pressure plate. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE WELCOMED RIGHT NOW! :(

JMTC offered advice, potentially my master clutch cyl wasn't releasing. Changed it out, re-bled, I seem ok now. I'm also wondering if I wasn't being paranoid due to previous slip and this is the new acceleration speed with 5lbs less of rotational mass... who knows... had a great ride today :D

Only drove it an extra 2 weeks, this thing has been parked for the winter. I was in break in mode but not further slipping (or my mind went back to normal). Either way I put in a new clutch master regardless if that fixed things, re-bled and have been happy since. Can't wait to run this thing full season, it's brutally awesome Brutal as in, when it engages, it engages!

Let us know if you can tell any difference with acceleration due to the lighter flywheel. What about torque, does it feel like you lost any with the lighter flywheel ??
Congrats on having an easy fix of needing to bleed or replace the master cylinder. I'm sure you had a pucker factor moment there for a few. Lol

Thanks for the feedback robyb.
I currently have an OS Giken and its starting to be a bear in LA traffic. Thinking about switching to a JMTC Stage 3 as well. Hoping it is less of an on/off switch than the Giken.
How much did the engagement point change vs an OEM clutch? Is it on/off or allows for a little feathering etc?

What I did notice (and look for) is if my revs go up quicker/slower when blipping the fuel (rev match) and it does. I hated how long my rev would stay up high when I rev matched, I like it when it hits the ceiling and decreases quickly and you engage clutch at the right spot.

I'd say it's driveable, but drove it for only a few weeks. Did have trouble at first but that's because my clutch foot had become used to compensating for the slack in the Dual mass clutch, so I was taking off funny. I also hardened my mounts (put some 3M window weld in my poly mount inserts so they can't squeeze out anymore) and put some window weld on my driver side engine mount, so again that make engagement much more positive which messed me up.
Notetheless, driveable but faster more positive engagement than stock, that's for sure, but I would not call it an on/off switch.

Got one from jmtc too
Father about 21'000 fun filled miles with my 2013 Mini Cooper S R56 my clutch decided to give up on me. I have full bolt ons on my mini, meth injection and Manic stage 2 tune. Here are some pics of the fried clutch and DMF.
After looking at all of the aftermarket clutch kits I decided on the JMTC stage 3 clutch with a 21lb single mass flywheel. Arric was amazing at helping me pick the best kit for my current and future mods. The clutch kit looked and felt very durable and oozed quality compared to the stock components.
Everything came well packaged and nothing was damaged or missing. I've attached a few pics of the kit.
Braman Mini in West Palm Beach were kind enough to exchange my clutch for an aftermarket at a fair price. I'll be picking up my Mini on Saturday since I'm out of state and will follow up with a detailed review on the performance of the new clutch and the difference in feel to the OEM one.
