I must be thinking of an updated part. I could be wrong, but I was sure the countryman had a larger intercooler. My mistake.

Hit me up for a quote on the Quicksilver exhaust if you decide to go that way.

Also to anyone with a R56 who lives in AZ, we have a free Agency Power Titanium exhaust, all you pay is the install of about $150. We will photograph the install, do a before and after dyno and shoot a professional video and put it on our website. If you buy a VR Tune from me I will give you the exhaust and install it all for free with the photoshoot, dyno and video.

So, Forge IC is on the way (and I will be deleting the IC muffler for good measure - the front end will be off, so why not.) Question now about a tune. I'm looking for a basic "set it and forget it" Stage 2 level tune. I don't need to remap or switch maps or anything else. I contacted NM about their Stage 2 tune and how it interplays with the "Sport" mode. Here's what they said:

"Your sport button will work as is but without the increased boost. It will still firm up the steering and get the throttle input more sensitive."

So, if I read this correctly, the tune will increase normal boost to the Sport level. So, why would I do the tune instead of just engaging the Sport mode when I want to?

I think he means the sport button will operate as it does now. With some tuners, like renntech, they allow you to push the sport button and you will get more power. Currently when you push your sport button you do not get more power, only driving characteristics change. So when you get the NM Tune the sport button will remain the same. You will not get increased boost levels like other tuners do with the push of a button. That's my understanding when I was considering the NM Tune a while back.

Your tune will add power to both regular and sport modes. What they are saying is putting it in sport will not add any additional boost over non-sport with their tune. Their stage 2 will make noticeably more power than a stock tune in sport mode.

Note though that sport mode or not is currently the same power level. Sport mode does not increase power on a stock tune.

Wait are you keeping the 1st cat?

I'm not familiar with the NM tune. As far as AP goes, both need to be deleted for stage 2. That's good if you have a more specific tune.

If you haven't gotten that 2nd cat deleted, go to a shadier exhaust shop.
