Helix SSK

Well folks finally got round to installing my Helix short shift kit.

First of all, the instructions say install time should be about an hour. I say thats for a very competent mechanic . For an average joe I'd say about 2 and a half. But it's worth the sweat and pain, it shifts waaaay faster than stock and is way tighter and precise. I also put on a Sneed Speed billy club shift ****, and this makes it feel like a real track car .
I really recommend this kit for the people who don't want to pay $180+ for a cravenspeed kit.

I just installed one too.

Without a lift, it is a PITA doing on the ground even with the car up high on jack stands.

I didn't like the idea of leaving the dust cover off but considering the car has 70K miles and just came out of winter, it's really clean behind the heat shields.

Tip - Don't "pull" on the ball end with pliers like the directions say to. Instead, use the pliers to rotate the ball end until it pops off the ball. It is MUCH easier.
