So who on the West Coast of the USA is doing these Tunes? I am in Washington State and it sure sounds like this Tune would be of interest up here!

I ran full bolt ons on my 370z for almost a year(sold the car before) and i never got caught, my exhaust was loud as ****(130+db), i had no cats, and I had illegal intakes and to top it all off, i was pulled over for running a red light(accidentally) with all these mods, no front plate, tinted windows, and the cop who pulled me over didnt pop my hood or write me up for anything else i had that was illegal in the state of california

Just curious, considering the failure rates of the CMA4 clutches if you feel this will be an issue.

Really good! I have been itching to switch over the race map 'C' for a few months now. I was finally able to do it this morning being I got the meth spray working properly last night. Man! It feels like a totally different Mini now! It pulls real hard on the top end and I noticed most of the difference (so far with my limited drive) ripping threw 1-2-3. From what I saw on my quick run was 22PSI and the AFR seems to be about 11.9 which is awesome. Not running out of fuel with the meth spraying.

With map 'B' it was about 10 ign. timing advance at redline in 4th. The A/F's were 11.8 or so and the IAT's were 5-10 deg above ambient.

I will take some logs of map 'C' then switch back to map 'B' .... log there and post up the logs.

Edit - Just went out and did a 3rd gear pull on map 'C'. Was seeing 22psi, 11.9 A/F and 11.5-12 timeing advance at redline.

All our GP2's are doing great still. They just did a 100 degree track day last month and are doing another this month. They are still using map B since the added power is throwing off their gear choices. Straights that used to top out in 3rd gear are now 4th gear straights. Even in the heat they shaved 2 seconds off their prior times. Typical lap time is 1:07 on this particular course so 2 seconds is pretty solid gain.

Great to hear. I should be able to run the C map with my current mods and the meth. I should be getting the tune by the end of the week.

Wow that sounds amazing. It pulls super hard on my stock turbo on Map C. I was able to hit 153mph without a problem. For sure it will do 160mph. I wonder what its going to be like when I get an E45. The torque must feel great because it doesn't taper off. Torque all the way to redline.

I don't believe that the E45 will give you much more than you already have, I have heard that it's difficult to get more boost out of the E45 without fighting the DME. Stick with your stock turbo because you're not going to see more than 22psi period, the ECU's limit is 22psi.

I think that turbo is good for lower PSI- 19 psi or so. It will provide more air than a stock turbo. I noticed a big difference with it when installed. But now that I am boosting 21-22psi, it seems its out of its efficiency range. I am talking with JM about the K04 now.

Yes, the PSI max has everything to do with the turbo. With the right turbo and a tune, Manic theoretically should be able to tune the ECU to any boost you want. Of course with properly supporting mods as well.

Edit - One limitation I know of on a regular S model are the map sensors. They only see up to 22 psi. I believe you can put the JCW ones in and have manic tune around them for higher boost.

This is awesome, Only 4hrs from me. Something tells me it's time for a Road Trip!!!

But whats with the $100 Labor charge. Seems like its going to Cost $800 plus tax and shipping if Mailed in, or more if Driven, due to mileage. Id think that the $500 was labor inclusive for the service. Oh well...

Labor charge is news to me. We include it in the retail pricing set by Manic.

It's only a 30 minute drive for me.

I have heard that Manic can tune your Mini to run cooler (ECU-thermostat), question is how much cooler than my Mini's 222- 226*F? I didn't see anything on the home page about running cooler.

Yeah that threw me off. If I drove all the way up I have to pay $100 for them to plug into my OBD port and hit Run

Why is your MINI running that high of a Temp? Mine runs at 185* when in Sport mode.

He is changing fan trigger points, the thermostat still operates as thermostat does on normal cars. They are still mechanical , the programming just changes when they kick the fan on and when it turns off.

He's not opening the thermostat early or anything crazy.

so, yes he can make your car run cooler. Similar to the way the sport button changes fan strategy on the new N18's.

The N14's have always run a bit warmer when compared to an N18 with "Sport Mode". Mini has learned a few things about engine temperatures with the N18 JCW's. The "Sport Mode" doesn't lower my temps at all for me, as for running the AC I haven't done yet. About how much cooler would my engine run if I got a Stage 1 Manic Tune which I plan on getting hopefully by Oct? A ballpark figure is fine.

How does the 2-stage cooling work? Normally runs @ 107C, kick the AC on full blast, H2O temp drops to 92C in less than a minute. You can run the fan all you want, but if the thermostat is closed it won't cool more, right? Or am I missing something?
