i really like that JCW, it sounds great, thats the sound I'm looking for, but like I've said, i found a complete system from down pipe back from militek. I'm really curious about it because its cheap compared to going with just a catback which could cost just as much..but will the new down pipe throw off emissions and cause a light to come on??
Thanks

I was gonna say you could do a FJCW exhaust with an evolve catless DP, you won't pass emissions but you can always clear the CEL from coming on the dash.

Okay, any idea where to get that? Im just a little worried about not passing emissions because I'm stationed in germany and they do emissions testing here, i was really interested on that full exhaust system from millitek because its a good price and I'm not sure if other down pipes would fit other cat back systems if i wait to do the down pipe and just buy a cat back for now, if that makes sense. I've posted the link to the Militek setup but I've never heard of them and don't know much about the exhausts themselves and how they sound.

you can get rid of the 2nd cat and just do a straight pipe to the muffler from there, from what i heard youll pass emissions, the 2nd cat is not monitored so it will not throw a CEL, the downpipe will, however im going with the evolve catless downpipe like robmuntean said right after i go for a sticker so ill have a year of the DP

If you want the perfect sound and no drone, the best setup is a FJCW exhaust with an evolve catless DP. With that said, you'll throw a cel on your dash but can clear it off the dash with the CAN tool. Trust me don't waste big bucks on an exhaust unless it's the Akrapovic Turbo back system. It's just a waste of time and money cause you won't be happy with your setup. I would know:-). But if you want loud, I'd just save up and go with the Akrapovic turbo back exhaust. It looks great, sounds loud and deep, and you have droning issues.

Aren't there some MINI independent shops around you in Germany, I forgot the name of the one I was near back in 2010.

Akra is not loud, it's clean and subtle, but loud does not fit the definition of Akra at all. Whether it's a M3 or a MINI, every Akra system I've heard is not loud. Look up iPE on youtube for a M3 off my buddy "creaminz" or some of my iPE videos and you'll know what loud can be.

Louder than the FJCW exhaust is what I meant. I'm comparing the two lol.

I just went with the muffler delete option. Bought a SS Flowmaster tip for $85 on line, took it to the local muffler shop and had them remove the muffler & weld in a strait pipe with the new tip. Sounds great and not much drone at all on the highway.

Hey Tony, did this in the garage today, click the link below. It's from a cold start, not warmed up and about 30 degrees's outside. I did make a mistake in my last post, the tip is a MagnaFlow, not Flowmaster. When I had this done the guys in the muffler shop could not believe how quiet it actually was at idle. You really only hear the deeper tone when you have your foot in it and sometimes on the highway around 70 to 75 MPH. I also noticed more drone if I have the back seats down. Im a big V8 muscle car guy used to a much deeper dual exhaust sound and this is no where even close to that. It does not give you that fart box sound you sometimes hear on the rice burners running around either. Just my opinion, but I feel this has a bit of class to it !

Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions. Please let me know if the link does not work. It's on my son's account, hence all the Mincraft lingo.

That sounds pretty good. I think a little too raspy for my taste though. I think I'm looking for more solid exotic tone for mine. I am impressed with the sound of it without a muffler though. Makes me feel a little more comfortable with the direction that I want to go with mine.

I have an Akrapovic cat back... Love it. Definitely not the loudest exhaust made but it does sound the nicest (in my opinion)

ra2fanatic are you using the Akrapovic Exhaust High Flow Downpipe with your full Akrapovic exhaust system?

When I had the Akra, I did. Makes no sense of swaying towards another manufacture's product if I didn't believe in the system in the first place. THat was then, now I run the full iPE Innotech valvetronic exhaust system.

We all know how much the full Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust runs, what is the going rate for the full iPE Innotech valvetronic exhaust system? I'm expecting it to be a lot more than anything else out there, I do have to say that it does sound better than the full Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust! Can only imagine what it would sound like on a supercharged Mini Cooper S R53 or a naturally aspirated car. I am unable to listen to it ever again because I'll never afford something of that caliber!

You really have had just about every performance mode out there for MCS's, thanks for steering me away from Megan coilovers!

Well the price I can get for you guys is close to what the full Akra costs, so I wouldn't understand why anyone would want anything other than an iPE for the money. So if you're in for a full system, then iPE is the way to go for that kinda money.

Thank you for the kind words, but I know of a few others who have done way more than me. I have yet to really reinforce the engine and when I've done that, then I can say I've "completed" the MINI.

I am not a retailer, but I can get special pricing for anyone I recommend. If someone asks GT Auto Concept directly they'll get the full retail price lol.

But every time I recommend someone and they find out the price I can offer it for, communication goes silent. It's expensive, but not that expensive compared to the Akra system. A bit ridiculous but eh, I'm happy to be the only one with the system in America.
