Anyone had their Manic tune done by Redline in NJ ?

 

Yep good guys there but they charge $100 install fee. They are true tuners though. Had a ton of modded BMWs audis and VWs

 

Thanks, the $100 would be offset but not having to pay overnight shipping both ways to others.

 

yea I weighed it all out and it was gonna be cheaper and more convenient to drive to NJ and get it done in one day.

 

They are gouging you with the $100 "install fee". They are making money off the sale of the tune.

Yea I said the same thing about the install fee but even with them charging the fee it was still cheaper than overnighting.

 

Unless another Manic dealer will match their price with Overnight shipping both ways included they are my best deal. I'll be driving right past them to a buis. meeting and I'm told since I am only getting stage 1 , I can wait for the 1.5-2 hours.

 

If you have another vehicle you don't need to overnight I own a truck too and will just let the mini sit and do like 2 or 3 day shipping to try to save a few buck stage 2+ at 650$ don't need to add 100 install fee plus 200 for sps switch

 

How do u guys compare this tune to say the burger motor sport plug in.

JB is great, but the Manic's lowest stage 1 and low Map is more aggressive than the JB+.

im scavenging parts to get it ready for manic, i forgot to ask one thing, my r60s is an automatic, would stage 2 be a problem?

The rating of the automatic transmission is not that high. From what I've read it's best to keep torque values below the 230 ft-lb range. I believe that Manic can limit the torque in the lower gears if necessary.

 

The autos are quite as durable as the manuals, but I have 4 customers with big turbo kits pushing 260wtq and one of them tracks his auto once to twice a month

Can anyone provide a link for the torque rating for the Aisin TF60SN transmission used in the R56? I haven't been able to find one.

Anecdotal evidence is all well and good but what does the manufacturer say?

 

Ditto, I would like to know too. I'm sure with a DP and Manic Tune the auto guys are way over the specs

I've got about 18k miles on my manic stage 3 and k04. No issues so far.... Knocks on wood. I do notice hard 2-3 shifts with more boost/power though. You guys notice that?

 

I have not noticed any issues with shifting with my auto.

 

Anybody hit the dragstrip with there manic? Also I autocross does anybody with manic autocross if so what map are u using?

 

im buying an fmic right now so i can do the stage 1 plus, but main thing keeping me off an DP is the code and inspection problems. would the stage 2 tune fix the code?
