Lowers intake more than that. Sometimes I'm seeing almost 30F below ambient, so that really is about 50F below what you would see by just running an intercooler. It really is dependent on temperature and humidity. On hot, dry days I see the greatest effect.

I could only imagine driving from SoCal to Las Vegas when it's 100 degrees fahrenheit outside running even 30 below, I'd be smiling!

Oh no that wasn't me. I had the Blue Hatchback! Sorry I left so fast. Been there for a long time. I had to get back on the road to NorCal

Also, be careful using E85 mixes. I'm going to stop using it. So much gains in the butt dyno but the tune doesn't like it. Had a few "bogs" or "stutters" (not sure what to call it) above 5k rpm boosting close to 20psi. Back to 91 only and runs flawless.

I noticed that too after I filled up with 4 gal of E85 last night. I'm sticking with 91 from now on.
John, were you able to get new spark plugs like Nick suggested? If you did, is your car running better? Nick installed them for me as I got tuned last Saturday.

It wasn't done as a courtesy but I paid about $25 for them to install them so it was worth it in my eyes.

You can only switch to what was loaded on your DME. In my case, I have three levels of stage 2. I'm told A B and C. A is a slight upgrade from stock and B being my every day tune. And C being a race tune not recommended unless using race fuel or meth.

Theoretically yes. But stage 3 and stage 4 will require some fine tuning. You can be for example, stage 1 and have the stage 2 map loaded. And when you buy all your supporting mods you can switch to it.

Maybe I missed the answer, if you have the tune installed and need to go to the dealer and they do a firmware upgrade will then tune then be set back to factory? I'm not asking a factory warranty question, more like if your windows need the firmware reload which I did need to have done on my 09 or something like that. If the answer is yes, if I purchase the tune, can I also purchase a device like other companies use to reload thru my OBD?

Before you first loaded your custom tune you saved a copy of the stock firmware, all you would do is reload the saved stock firmware before taking it into the dealer.

You need to buy a Switch, so you can toggle through your maps. According to Manic, they are $200 US, but they are out for a couple weeks.

If the dealer reflashes the ECU, the Manic tune will no longer exist. You will need to go back to the Manic dealer and have them flash it back.

There is no devise you can buy (affordably) that will allow you to reflash the ECU to the Manic tune.

This info is confirmed by Manic.

Switching it to the stock setting is just that... just a switch. You can switch it back and forth to any map loaded at will. It doesn't rewrite anything.

To be clear, Manic loads the ECU with 4 tunes:
1. Stock Tune
2. Performance tune A - Conservative tune
3. Performance tune B - Everyday tune (provided you are running with the gas, meth, etc. it was tuned with)
4. Performance tune C- Race tune (race gas, meth, whatever it takes to keep the mini happy at the more aggressive tune)

That is the answer I was looking for. Thank you. Until we can flash locally and being there is no dealer in my city I will wait.

It flashes the whole ECU so you would have to go back to your tuner and get reflashed.

Sorry if I'm being confusing. I suck.

hahaha. no worries man! The only thing that sucks is being at work today. ha!

No matter what mode you are in, when the dealer flashes the ecu, the entire thing gets written over. So, you would need to have the Manic dealer reflash it back.
