Drivetrain Pilo Coil
>>Is the Pilo coil worth the money?Good points?Bad Points?Stock coil disadvantages?I am not interested in hp, just combustion efficiency.

Aloha and welcome to NAM.
The answer may depend on your other mods. The stock ignition system is reasonably efficient.
Aftermarket coils include the Pilo coil (a neon part) and the MSD coil (see outmotoring.com).
Coil and ignition upgrades are not the first mods you should be considering.
Keep to simple things like-
Lots of driving school events
Drop in air filter or cold air intake
Rear swaybar- 19mm for MC and 22mm for MCS from various vendors- Webbmotorsports.com. helix13.com ,
Minimania, promini and others.
appearance upgrades- window tint, aero parts, paint the wheel arches
shift ****- see whalen shift machine
short shifter- see Helix13.com short shifter
Cat-back exhaust if you don't mind a louder exhaust note- see Rspeed for both MC and MCS (reasonable prices, good looking and performing products) or Helix13.com if you like Borla street (quiet) or Race (loud).
Later, light weight wheels and non runflat tires.
Suspension mods- lowering springs
pulley upgrade for the MCS
Maybe an ECU upgrade if the price goes down
Then you can think about ignition upgrades. Really.
Just before doing a full polished and ported cylinder head and racing cam mod
or installing a Quaife Limited slip differential and lightweight UUC flywheel and racing clutch.

I already have a 15% reduction pulley,Powerchip ECU remap,K&N Typhoon Intake,Quicksilver header and exhaust,Nology wires and Denso ik22's.I dont mean to be a smart ***,but does the extra voltage from the Pilo mean anything
?I am already questioning the Nology wires.I am a speed freak like the rest of you and will do what it takes to get the HP's but, i would rather not shell out the cash for nothing.

I have the Pilo coil, also known as the screamin demon coil. It is originally a neon aftermarket part but so is the MSD. I like the coil. I don't know that I would recommend it but I can say I noticed an increase in throttle response, my wife was really impressed by the increase. For the money I don't think its a bad mod.
I installed the Screamin' Demon version of this coil (i.e. I drilled the mounting holes out myself) and installed along with a set of Magnecor wires and Accel U Groove plugs (with a big gap as detailed with the coil installation instructions). While I had not noticed it with the stock ignition, the new set up eliminated a flat spot in the 2000 to 4000 rpm range. The difference is very apparent in that the car pulls harder in this range. The idle is marginally smoother also. I like the mod because my MC is a dedicated auto-x car and I spend a lot of time in the 2000 to 4000 rev range.
