Just Purchased Borla S-Type Exhaust System Today!

I just purchase the Borla S-Type Exhaust System today after doing a compression test on all cylinders yesterday at my brothers house, cylinder #1 at 155 psi, cylinder #2 152 psi, cylinder #3 154 psi and cylinder #4 153 psi! Also 2,000 miles ago I had the walnut blasting done on my intake valves and runners so you could say that I have done some Spring cleaning in Winter. Now is the perfect time to install a better exhaust system such as the Borla S-Type Exhaust System.

Just so you know if all the Borla exhaust gave me was the great sound I would have purchased it for just that reason alone! What type of gains will I notice with the Borla S-Type Exhaust System on my healthy clean engine?

Appreciate your feedback!

Thanks,
Systemlord.

Performance gains? Minimal.... Most likely negligible, honestly.

The factory exhaust on the R56 is large enough to flow more than enough air for the engine and turbo to breath. The only real restriction is the downpipe cat. Unless you get a de-catted dpwnpipe, you aren't going to see much of any performance out of the exhaust system.

Whats the standard for installing the Borla S-Type exhaust on a 2007 MCS? Where do I cut the original pipe behind the second cat? It's up on 4 jacks right now, I just need to know where and how much to cut from the original exhaust pipe.

You'll need to cut about 4" ahead the second cat.

I am not sure if s-type and touring are the same I gain about 2-3 Hp and some torque at 4th gear higher rpm on my touring version but not anything dramatic.

It is gonna sounds so nice! I hope you'll enjoy it.
