DIY One Ball and Big Tips Mod

I have just done a one ball mod and big tips for a mate who wanted to do his first mod on his cooper s

I will tell the short version story and show some pics on how we did this mod to make it very easy for people to do this mod

If you are doing this at home you will need

cutting tools (for cutting exhaust)
welder for welding
jack stands or means of getting car up high to do job
general tools

Parts needed
1.. 2.1/4 90degree mandrel bent pipe (perched from exhaust shop) $25.00
2.. 2 x 3inch od x 5inchs long pipe that has bee coned down at one end to 2 inch (exhaust shop did the taper down and supplied the pipe) $20.00
3.. black heat proof paint $10.00

If you don't do this at home DIY get the above exhaust parts first and take it to a exhaust shop and get them to do it ( I asked a exhaust guy I know how much he would charge if parts were supplied and said $80.00) or maybe $150.00 to do the whole job

ONE BALL MOD

So this is what we did
One Ball mod

Removed the rear muffler the one that the 2 x exhaust pipes run into the pipe from the front of the engine and crosses over to the outlet muffler

Cut and fit 90 degree pip to suit then weld ..your one ball mod is done

EXHAUST TIPS

So this is what we did
Big Stealth exhaust tips

Remove chrome std exhaust tips by taking the little allen key screw out that locks it to exhaust pipe

Cut exhaust tips of just pass the flat steel pipe support
align 3inch tailpipes/tips then tack weld into the right spot then weld the inside of the tips so you cant see through ..your stealth tips are done

This DIY mod cost us $55.00
Good luck and hope this helps

Very nice wire up, but for those of us without a welder I believe using pipe clamps works out
