Evolve DP Intsall

Has anyone installed the Evolve De-cat downpipe (or really any dp for that matter)? I am hoping to do it within the next two weeks but am unsure how to install the flanged end that connects to the exhaust pipe. Will the stock catback accept this with the hardware already on the car or will I have to go out and get a clamp, have it welded on, etc?

My apologies as this is a rookie question, I have not had my car off the ground yet to see what is already down there and wanted a clear game plan prior to the day of install.

Thanks in advance guys!

Im installing mine wednesday. Go to WMW and buy the downpipe flange gasket. 16 dollars shipped. It's a bit pricey but no auto parts store in my area carried it. It will bolt fit up to the factory exhaust wi the clamp already on the exhaust. This is slightly a lot to chew off for it being your first time having your car off the ground. Do you do all your maintenance? I'd make sure all that was taken care of first. Ata has a write up on a downpipe they installed but I can't find it on my iPad right now. But be careful because the "v band" clamp can damage easy.

Thanks Horizon, I checked out Way's site and that makes sense. I have read the install is a pain but I should be up for it. This will be my first engine mod on the Mini (I come from the WRX world), it's a 2013 and I have been enjoying it stock for a few months. I'm going to replace the gasket between the downpipe and the turbo while I am at it too. Good luck Wednesday, let me know how it goes.

Has your arrived yet? I know I can't complain for the price but the more I look at it the more I'm slightly disappointed with the quality. I took a flashlight and a mirror and was looking at some of the inner welds and there is an 1/8th inch flat spot on one of the sides where it look like someone took a hammer to it while trying to join some of the pieces together. The spot is where the flange coming off the turbo and meets the first welded section. I've tried to take a picture but none will turn out. This is just going to cause turbulence as its on the side where the exhaust gases are going to directly hit it. I can't say if its going to affect performance but for $260 shipped I guess corners have to be cut somewhere. I've shown the downpipe to two other mini owners and as much as I hate to say it, it has deterred them from buying the downpipe. I will happily be a Guinea pig though and give a thorough review when I install it.
